![]() I get not everyone has access to a laptop, but this is my way and has been for years. I click the appropriate hole, see the elevation, switch back to tab three where my rings are and do the damn thing. In the event of a shootout (where it doesn't tell the specific hole) I switch to tab two and just have to make a quick visual of the landscape to decipher which of the nine holes pictured on that page is my shootout hole. Easily doable with some practice and never worry about shout clock timing out, usually with 4-5 seconds to spare. Then I switch over to tab three that has my pdf of club rings, do some quick math in my head, make the adjustment and get my shot off. No subscription is required to see the elevations GC Tommy recommends, so I can see pretty quick what adjustments I need to the rings. I start the game and when it finds me a match it tells me the hole and course, so I can quickly find it on my first tab. ![]() The third is from GC dot io site where I have already used the wind chart creater to generate a pdf of the clubs in my bag to show me the max/mid/min for a power one ball. One tab is opened to the GC Tommy site for the tour I am playing, the second for the shooutout holes. I use my laptop and have it sitting on the coffee table in front of me as I play on my android phone. If you have a second device (tablet/laptop) then it is far from impossible. If I played tournaments like a play tour play, I'd never win - not that I do anyway because you still need to hit perfect which I always fail at, especially when I really need it. If I wanted to grind tour play like I do tournaments I could totally do that and my win % would go from 70% to something much higher. Also, I feel like using the wind apps on the same device is cumbersome and leads to timeouts - also could be a personal problem. That margin is good enough for tour play (for me) but not for tournaments. For tour play, I tend not to use any wind apps as I know what my clubs are going to do within a certain margin. For tournaments I have my PC with web based wind apps and guides open for reference. I play tournaments on my tablet, 'cause I'm trying harder.įor wind calcs. There is clash caddie and gcn, which I don't use. That said, on my tablet I play with a grid, on my phone, I don't. Using the "take shot" graphic works fine, but it is susceptible to slight mistakes that can be mitigated with the grids. Grids can and will make your wind adjustments and general shot-making more precise. For Android you need to do some hacks and get a non-market app named Material Cue to work. Let's start by saying there is a difference between wind apps (golf clash notebook), and grid overlays. For grids on iOS you need to use the built in accessibility numbered grid.
